GySgt Ezell completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego California in October 1995. His first assignment after completing the basic automotive and the advanced automotive maintenance school in Camp Johnson North Carolina was with 3rd Maintenance Battalion, 3rd Force Service Support Group, Okinawa Japan. Here he deployed to Hokkaido, Japan in Operation Forest Light for cold weather training with the Japanese Army. GySgt Ezell also deployed to Poe Hang, Korea to train with the Republic of Korean Marines.
In July of 1997 GySgt Ezell was transferred to 1st Force Service Support Group, 7th Motor Transport Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. Here he attended the Non-Commissioned Officers Corporals Leadership Course and Sergeants Course. He also served as a Maintenance Chief for several CAX operations at 29 Palms, California.
Upon completion of this tour, he was assigned to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Here GySgt Ezell served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Marine Corps Instructor Trainer of Water Survival.
In February 2004 he was transferred to Combat Service Support Battalion 1, 1st Marine Logistic Group, Camp Pendleton, California. In February 2006 GySgt Ezell deployed with Combat Logistic Battalion 7 to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 5-7. Here he served in Security Company as Provisional Military Police. He held billets of a Convoy Commander, Security Commander, and Platoon Commander. Also while stationed at Camp Pendleton he attended the Staff Non Commissioned Officer Career Course and Advanced Course at Camp Pendleton California.
GySgt Ezell assumed his current post as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor on 1 June 2007.
Personal awards include: Purple Heart Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
